Band of Horses – Denver 4/8/13
Band of Horses came proper when their tour made a stop at The Ogden here in Denver. The whole crew was there in full force supporting their new album, Mirage Rock. Despite the weather channels calling for the last blizzard of the season, BOH fans started lining up for this sold out show around six thirty. The GGfam have been fans since Everything All The Time, but have never had a chance to see them live, and last night was worth the wait. They tore it up!!
The show started off with opening act Roadkill Ghost Choir. Their recognizable indie folk-rock sound. They had a great set, and closed with the crowd favorite, Beggars Guild. It was a good fit and seemed to be a good group of guys to open for BOH. Even if those Floridians were freaking out a bit about the impending blizzard…
During a short wait for the techs to switch up the band gear we were able to work our way up to a more front and center position for Band of Horses. They came out strong and their first song was appropriately; The First Song. They had the crowd into it from the beginning, with everyone groovin’ to a killer setlist. They did a great job playing a mix of songs from all four albums. They got in all the hits like The Funeral, Is There a Ghost, and No One’s Gonna Love You. While mixing it up with some of the GGfam fav’s like Knock Knock, Factory, and Cigarettes, Wedding Bands. They came back on for a three song encore to close it out. It was an amazing show, with a great crowd, and a Band of Horses that sound just as amazing live as they do in their albums.
