E Tuesday – J:Kenzo
This Tuesday Sub.Mission Dubstep pulled out all the stops with a perennial favorite, the inimitable J:Kenzo. Back across the pond to get deep in Denver. J:Kenzo delivered exactly what the crowd wanted…that grimey underground sound. Thank goodness for the recent renovations to The Other Side, and the addition of the patio. Otherwise there might not have been room to move in the venue, and with tunes like this you’ve gotta move! The crowd was lively (maybe a little too lively—we think it has to do with the “super moon”), and even more colorful than usual, with some go-go boot sightings and a few full scale ravers spotted….not our style but hell girl, if you can move like that, rock the neon fishnets!
Sub.Mission resident Dayquill played the opener and closing set, rounding out the evening with even more of that rumbling dubby elixir the creatures of the night seek out week after week. The weekly DJ battle was a vibrant affair, with Denver duo (in music and life) Intergalactic Fantasy Safari tossing out stuffed animals and celebrating a birthday, and NADASOUND taking home the week’s crown with his spacey and elevated glitched out beats. Make sure to check out Sub.Mission’s Calendar for more incredible events every week!
