Portugal. The Man – Aspen – 4th of July
We headed to a little place called “Aspen” for the 4th of July this year and it was nothing short of spectacular. From the massive parade and rooftops to the local food and hiking. The entire day screamed “AMERICA.” Since they cancelled the fireworks in town due to the fire ban, Belly Up brought in their own live fire show —–> Portugal. The Man. The show started off with The Gaurds and their unique sound. The show was sold out, the locals were in abundance, and the rock and roll was going to be heavy.
Their new album “Evil Friends” is crushing the charts and turning heads all over the festival scene. It’s produced by Danger Mouse and they are opening at Red Rocks tonight for the Avett Brothers. All in all, the curators of Indie Rock, at this point in time in the USA, is Portugal. The Man. Their sound is from our roots, their inspirations are your entire music collection, and their passion for the sound is miraculous. They should be on your “must see” list, in your weekly rotation, and they are traveling to a venue near you already. One thing is for sure, they know how to rage a party proper.
