Norm MacDonald – Aspen July 5/6
Norm MacDonald is back with a new weekly show, “Norm MacDonald Live” and is also touring around the states. He’ll be in Aspen on July 5th and 6th for the weekend of Freedom and bringing the great comedy he’s made famous on Saturday Night Live, Billy Madison, Dirty Work, and countless appearances on the stage. We had a couple minutes to catch up with Norm last week for an interview and also all the great stories he has to tell.
GG: How did you find comedy as your calling? NORM: I stumbled in to a comedy club in Ottawa, Canada one night and realized how much easier it would be than manual labor.
GG: Best memory from SNL? NORM: My best memory from SNL was one late night when a bunch of us helped Adam Sandler write The Hanukkah Song.
GG: Best grimey story from the road?…that you can share NORM: I remember one time on the road where they had no room reserved for me so I had to spend the whole week in the green room.
GG: Favorite food on the road? NORM: My favorite food on the road is a Big Mac, French Fries, and a coke.
GG: What music are you listening to these days? NORM: I am listening to Outlaw Country, specifically Billy Joe Shaver.
GG: What was your favorite movie to be involved in? NORM: My favorite movie to be involved in was Billy Madison.
GG: Words of advice for young comics out there? NORM: My only advice to young comics would be to do a new joke every time on stage.
GG: Any hidden talents? NORM: I have no talents, hidden or otherwise.
GG: Your favorite comic to tour with on the road? NORM: My favorite comic to tour with is Sean O’Connor.
GG: What’s coming up next that we should watch for? NORM: I do a video podcast “Norm MacDonald Live” every Monday.
