Johnny Cupcakes – Fashion Sweetness
Johnny Cupcakes is a brand I have been following for a while, ex metal head gone entrepreneur was something I could definitely relate with! Johnny Cupcakes has a mission to bring out the kid in everyone, to inspire and motivate people to do something they’re passionate about all while thinking outside of the box. I could relate to Johnny Cupcakes because this is a big time company that just doesn’t take everything so serious, but still knows the value of hard work and the appreciation of being yourself. Johnny Cupcakes gets their logo inspirations from numerous outlets. Johnny grew up having an easy name to throw funny words at the end of, having numerous friends and coworkers give him meaningless nicknames such as Johnny Appleseed, Johnny Pancakes and Johnny Cupcakes. While making t-shirts for his hardcore band he decided it would be funny to put one of his nicknames on a t-shirt, he decided to wear the one that said Cupcakes on it to the record shop he worked at and to his disbelief customers began to ask him where they could get the shirt, and so it began. Today Johnny Cupcakes has stores in Los Angeles, Boston, Massachusetts, and London. The unique things about all these stores are that they are designed to look like old fashioned bakeries, t-shirts are displayed in refrigerators, baking trays, and bakery cases, window displays have signs that read “0% carbs, 0% fat, 0% sugars” and “freshly baked”. The store is filled with air fresheners that make the bakeries smell of fresh vanilla! Your clothes will come in a custom pastry box rather than a plastic bag, your sizing chart will be seen on a nutrition facts sign and a ton more!
Last summer I had the experience of a lifetime when I got to visit the Johnny Cupcakes location in Boston, MA! The store was just as I had imagined, old vintage bakery equipment full of clothes, and the smell of vanilla everywhere. Johnny cupcakes is one of a kind, and definitely worth a visit!
