Motet show recap – Denver
First off is like to thank my friend Alex Romero for the ticket and Grimey Gatsby for the opportunity to write about whatever I damn well please. Secondly, if you have never heard the Motet you are missing out. Arguably one of the best cover bands in the country The Motet, dressed with 70’s swagger, covered everything from Earth, Wind and Fire to all the great rock, funk, soul, rhythm and blues etc from that year. These guys do not mess around and are as tight as any band out there.. The singing on some of the rock tracks was what really blew me away, though. Those ladies and gents have pipes and they aren’t afraid to belt out great tunes in perfect falsettos.
I was a little late getting to show thanks to my fun fueled evening the night before dressed as Jason Vorhees on a head full of acid lurking on an old farm just north of denver. Sweaty from the bike ride, leaking out all of the toxins I arrived unscathed but somehow still slightly tripping. All I can say is, “wow!” The Motet rocks! Even with a terrible hangover and seeing things I had a great time. Check them out if they are playing a venue near you! Below I’ve posted a clip of them for your listening and viewing plaesure…
