Grenade stepping up
Grenade took over the snowboard world when founder Danny Kass announced its first glove back in 2001..Soon after the glove was rolling into production smoothly. Grenade decided to add more gear to the inventory. Such as Jackets, pants, shoes, shirts, beanies, etc.Danny and his brother Matt Kass set up shop in Portland, Oregon.
I found myself scooping up some of this gear almost every single season. I was a fan of the way the jackets, pants and gloves looked and felt. Even if I wasn’t buying Grenade gear that season, I was definitely checking the new stuff each winter. I felt like part of the platoon.
But unfortunately the last couple of years I’ve noticed a lack in quality with the stuff Grenade was producing. If you’ve been following Grenade since 2001 you would have noticed a change in the quality of the products. The gloves were falling apart, the seams in the jackets were coming apart. And the pants were wearing out within 2 seasons.
This past September 13th 2014, Danny Kass along with the Dingo hosted “The infamous” at Snowboard on the block festival in Denver, Colorado. And without surprise Grenade had a tent set up with tons of gear for sale. But the best part about the whole festival. Is when Danny Kass announced that he was gonna take control over what Grenade was producing and make sure that it returns to the quality snowboard gear they had been putting out before.
This is why we support Grenade. They have been all about snowboarding since day one. And are still trying to make it better.
