Tipper Red Rocks Recap
The highly anticipated first time ever for Dave Tipper at Red Rocks was every bit worth the wait. We had purchased our tickets over a year ago, and the excitement and anticipation continued to grow until the second we hit red rocks and we knew that the rocks were alive tonight, as 10,000 people danced the night away to the sounds of Tipper, Quixotic, and Ott.
Tipper was starting off the night with a down tempo set, and Jonathan Singer on visuals, the Funktion 1 sound system was bumping and the crowd loved it. After Tipper had played his 1st set, Quixotic came on, and I had personally never herd of them before the show, but they definitely made their mark at red rocks and had the crowd in shock with their areal acrobats and flame poi and juggling, and also very heavy bass due to the group having 2 drummers, and a stand up bass player as well. Their set was dope to say the least.
Next came the almighty Ott, his style is the most unique I think I have seen at red rocks, mixing crazy glitch with amazing deep bass he had the crowd grooving and all getting ready for the final set of the night. The highly anticipated Tipper up-tempo set with Android Jones on visuals. Tipper took us on a journey through his discography, we got to hear pretty much all of his newest EP Fathoms during his down tempo set, then he unleashed all the VIPS, the whole puzzle dust EP, and even some tracks from bubble control, and the visuals were inane the whole night. Alex and Allison Grey made a masterpiece of a painting while the show was going on.
I would definitely say that this was one of the best Red Rocks shows I have been to, and what better way to start off red rocks season, next time Tipper is in town make sure you do not miss out, life changing without a doubt.
