Mar Y Sol Ecotel – Costa Rica
We found a little slice of heaven in Costa Rica that is a sustainable gem called, “Mar Y Sol Ecotel.” This Ecotel (Eco friendly Hotel) has 8 bedrooms that start at $45/night. An on site restaurant that serves brick oven fire roasted pizzas is only 200 meters from the surf of the Pacific in Tambor. Many activities surround this tropical paradise that include surfing, scuba, horseback riding, hiking, volcano viewings, howler monkeys, and many many more. Only a 5 minute shuttle ride form the airport, this destination ecotel is a “one stop shop” that features an English and German speaking staff (one of the only places for this aspect).
Recently taken under new ownership, Mark and Holly (owners), have turned this place around for the new generation of travelers, ecowarriors, and surf seekers. The lodging is quaint and scenic, the surroundings are tranquil and natural, and the experiences last a life time. We hope to enjoy a stay at Mar Y Sol Ecotel soon in our travels to find what is Gatsby. This leaves little doubt in our minds though from their Instagram account — @marysol_ecotel
