Curren$y – recap
Last Saturday at Cervantes the mile high was popping off when the homie Curren$y came thru. This show was a must see and one to remember. This was his tour for “Pilot talk 3.” Pilot Talk III is the fifth studio album by American rapper Curren$y. It was released through his own label Jet Life Recordings on April 4, 2015. It is the third release of his Pilot Talk album series.
We arrived at Cervantes and picked up our media passes and tickets from the box office. After we met up with local artist Smoky Bare and some other homies…it was time to head inside. On the way in I couldn’t help but check out the merchandise tables to see all the knew gear the artists from had to offer. Ended up grabbing a t-shirt and hoodie before I left for the night too. We headed up towards the front so we could find a good spot to settle in and wait for Curren$y to hit the stage . Even the homies that were with us said the openers were lacking some enthusiasm. Curren$y finally hit the stage and didn’t waste any time getting the crowd hyped for his act. He went to the front of the stage and asked the crowd if anyone is getting high tonight? “Let me see what you all are working with,” he said, as different people from the crowd gave him their blunt to taste. After trying a few samples of the crowds blunts he says, “God damn everyone in this mother fucker has got that Gas! Ain’t nobody smoking on that reggie!” And he followed with, “that’s good to see Colorado!” Right after this was when the music kicked off! Curren$y started out with some of his earlier tracks to see if the crowd was paying attention. Some of those songs included “elevator muzik” ”Galaxy” and a few others. He got into some more popular songs later on in the night. Even one of our favorite tracks was dropped that night. I’m talking about the song “mary” from New jet city mixtape, and “jet life” featuring Wiz Khalifa and Big K.r.i.t.
Cervantes once again has not disappointed the city of Denver with an another amazing show for Cervantes and for the Grimey Gatsby archives. We will keep covering that grime and hope to see everyone at the next masterpiece ballroom show!
