0Möda Provŏcateūr recap
On March 6th, The 13th Annual Möda Provŏcateūr showcased a marvelous, theatrical performance at the Tucson Convention Center, all in the name of raising money for Southern Arizona Aids Foundation (SAAF). Local salons, models, and boutiques collaborated together to create what they refer to as, “Not your Grandmother’s Fashion Show!” With some models wearing nothing but glitter, to magnificent recycled handmade dresses that looked like they took a decade to make, it was a feast for your eyes to see. Some models even featured wings that could give Victoria Secret a run for their money! With steampunk wings that mechanically moved, they perfectly incorporated technology with aesthetic designs. All of the groups were wonderful, but our favorite salon featured that night was Toni and Guy, who always creates a one of a kind runway performance!
After the Moda show concluded, everyone headed right to Playground Bar and Lounge for the official after party! This is where those models and stylists who were working so hard, got to finally let loose and relax. You Sly Dog, which is a local mouth-watering hot dog truck like no other, was also invited to cook up the best tasty treats for the party as well.
We also want to give a special shout out to Erin Powers, who organized the segment for Toni & Guy, and Leah Schwersinske for coordinating the after party for all of us to enjoy. We got the chance to speak with some of the stylists who poured out their hearts to express their appreciation for the volunteers, donors, and sponsors that contributed their time and resources to make this happen! This experience was such a memorable night, and all of us at Grimey Gatsby were blown away!
