Flatbush Zombies 3001: A Laced Odyssey
Holy shit, two nights of sold out absolute madness! The first night to sell out was Friday night like a month ago and Thursday night sold out the night of. This is why we love covering artist like this because they are out of control lit as fuck! You better be damn sure that we will try and attend and cover anytime they roll thru Colorado. Not to mention that Remy Banks and Asap Twelvey was on this tour with Flatbush Zombies. If you are familiar with the two mentioned above than you should know that this made it ten times more lit than normal.
I really didn’t expect The first night Thursday was gonna sell out the way that it did, but who are we kidding we are talking about Denver man! Denver loves the Flatbush Zombies and will continue to support them. The openers Remy Banks and Asap Twelvy did a hell of a job hyping and getting the crowd excited for the FBZ to take stage. The amount of tracks that were thrown down couldn’t have been more fitting. They played some old stuff from previous albums such as thug waffle, bath salt, don’t do drugs kids, Palm trees, Death and a few others. There was enough of the new album to go around both nights as we heard many of our favorites and possibly your favorites and if you’ve never heard of any of thsee people, it will be a whole new listening experience. The new stuff they came out with Is absolutely fire! I would have to say it’s probably their best work in our opinion. They made sure to drop all the goodies firm the newness that’s for damn sure. We heard all the best tracks though without a doubt. To many to name but we heard new phone, who dis, rip cd, bounce, ascension, good grief, trade off, and that is it, pretty much the entire album between both nights…..Pure madness I tell ya!
We couldn’t be happier to cover this event and can’t wait for the next one from the Glorious dead! We handled both nights like a boss and had no problems the whole night, we are really starting get into a groove and pick up a solid routine that works. The night was a huge success and thought we did a pretty good job with the coverage. We saw Meech stage dive into the crowd and two minutes later he comes out of the green room with a Raw paper blunt so big it had to be like 14 in long and 4 in wide and light it up and blow clouds. We saw juice run across the speakers and get the crowd so hyped security had to hold the speakers in place. With the place being sold out you could catch a contact buzz by just standing in Cervantes from the ganja clouds. Most eventful nite to say the least.
