Hollywood Bowl – Halloween Town!!!
The Hollywood Bowl will be taking a trip this year. A very scary, yet magical, trip.
Where to, you ask?
Why, to Halloween Town, of course!
It is safe to say that Danny Elfman has outdone himself this year. The Oingo Boingo frontman will be performing as the one, and only, Jack Skellington, with Maestro John Mauceri conducting a choir, accompanied by a full orchestra.
Not only will Catherine O’Hara, Ken Page, and Paul Reubens be in attendance, they also will performing as their respective characters, Sally, Oogie Boogie, and Lock, live to the film background. Prior to the show, there will be an “audience costume contest,” as well as trick-or-treating!
Last year’s event was such a success, “Can’t wait for next year’s!!!” is the common sentiment. Many attendees expressed sorrow for those who left the event right after the movie, missing an impromptu concert, and an Oingo Boingo solo song!
This year’s event is being held the weekend of October 28-30, 2016. Tickets are still available for Friday, October 28 at 8:00pm. Discount tickets are available through goldstar.com, the link is below. The Hollywood Bowl is a Los Angeles treasure. The outdoor setting lends itself perfectly to those looking to picnic at the venue before the show, bring blankets, enjoy the scenery, and sing along.
The Hollywood Bowl is located at:
2301 N. Highland Ave, Hollywood, Ca 90068
There are different shuttles at the bottom of the hill, and ways to get there much easier than the parking they provide.
GET THERE EARLY!
