Medium Rare- Adrift Tiki Bar
Trying to decide where to eat is always such a daunting task and usually turns someone into a hangry state of rage. That’s where we were when we stumbled upon Adrift Tiki Bar off broadway last weekend. After walking through the tiki guarded entrance, our hanger quickly floated away as we found ourselves immersed in the jungle being taken over by the tiki spirit. The island joy and welcoming community comes over you making you feel like you are on deserted island thousands of miles away from reality.
Adrift is a new, one of a kind spot right here in Denver serving out some delicious Island cocktails from the classic Singapore Sling to the Scorpion bowls made to share. We knew that the drinks at a tiki bar would be good, but we were really blown away by the food. Their menu is a perfect size with mostly plates made to share with your party; they have all the island essentials from guava BBQ ribs to the coolest dry ice displayed poké we’ve ever experienced. The poké comes out atop volcanic rocks with dry ice underneath, creating a fogging effect over the dish. We then set off for the popular Pu Pu platter which includes wings, ribs, onion rings, Island pork sliders, and edamame, honestly one of the best eating experiences we’ve had in a bit. Forget it’s Island food, it’s out of this world! When you are feeling like you need a little island escape, throw on your best Hawaiian shirt and get yourself down to Adrift, and let your cares and worries drift away.
