0Early Season at A-Basin
All of us in Colorado have the same thing on our minds, where the fuck is all the white, fluffy stuff that we love so much and why wont it dump on us?! We were getting jealous of all the snow hitting Mammoth and Salt Lake, so we decided to make our way to A Basin to ride the manmade single run and slash out a few turns, spray a few friends with some slushy, wet stuff and of course some parking lot BBQing.
We had a late night out in Denver, so we didn’t rush up to the hill for first chair, probibly looking at chair 600 or something but that gave the mountain time to prepare for us. Pulling into the lot, you can already tell A-Basin is packed like sardines, we snuck down to the main lot and scooped a front row spot and started getting ready for the obnoxiousness that was about to commence on the hill.
Stumbling up to the lift lines, like cattle going through the gates of a small fence leading to the promise land, we shuffle our way through the singles line to get shredding quicker, cracking jokes and throwing snow at our friends in other spots in line. Lucky as we are, we snuck our way onto our own chair and decided it was time to bust out the goods, two joints and a Gpen will put you in the right mindset to start the chaos that is Ski traffic. Dodging and weaving through the islands of skiers makes for some abrasive maneuvers and quick laps. The snow may not be that great here at the moment, but at least we can get in a few turns before the real snow comes.
