DECADENCE 2016

What an epic way to kick off 2017! This two-day Decadence festival was one of the most emotional, engaging and mesmerizing sets we have seen in quite some time. Rawhide turned its venue into a magical wonderland and we were beyond stoked for this festival as our heartstrings are still being tugged by this performance that carried on into the new year. For some of us, 2016 was a black hole that seemed impossible to get out of, but alas, it was such an amazing end to a very weird and complicated year.

Walking into Decadence 2016 was full of excitement and happiness! It seemed a bit shaky earlier in the day when rain was pouring down on us but we did NOT let that stop us! Everyone was in full rage mode that friday night and made all that waiting in line totally worth it. The production value exceeded our expectations and we could not wait to enjoy the show and shred it up on the dancefloor! As we made our way to the main stage, we were in awe how the Sapphire stage was lit up, it was really something special to see! We got into the swing of the night, when Disclosure blessed AZ with their first appearance here! They had everyone singing in unity as there was so much love in the air. Meanwhile, the Sapphire tent was getting filthyyyy to 4B!

As the night continued, everyone then poured into the other tent for the long awaited Deadmau5 set! Visuals were on deck, the mouse head lit, and we were in for the long haul! We were packed in so tightly, if you got there late, you couldn’t get more than halfway to the front of the stage! Meanwhile, Malaa was tearing up second main stage! They are new to the scene, and G house was a good way to warm the crowd up for the long awaited green velvet set. Peter Robinson also put some fans in an emotional state, where one fan stated how they finally felt at peace for the first time in a long time. They continued to tell us how it helped them to understand their feelings again. The “shelter” video that played was beautiful to see as well. Apart of our top favorite artists were Slushii and Marshmello, who killed it by the way…as always!!) At the end of Day one we were dead..and unsure how we were going to pull ourselves together to do it all again! After little rest, and lots of random hangover cures, we prepared ourselves for day two!

Day two was even more lit with performances from artists such as The Chainsmokers, Jauz, Zedd DJ Snake, Justin Jay! Zomboy had fans head banging so hard they must have broken necks now! Since this was a two day rager, it definitely took us twice as long to recover but it was totally worth it. We want to thank Relentless Beats for helping us all end the year with a bang and start this year the same way. The weekend went by way too fast, but 2017 looks so good right now and we can’t wait to see what adventures are in store for us! May it include good friends and bad decisions but regardless, it’s all about the music, it always has been.
