The Cellar – Buffalo, NY
Supreme, for those who have been living (and wearing clothes from) under a rock for the past decade, is arguably the largest, most successful streetwear brand to date. Their roots are deep within the mid 90’s NYC skating scene- starting as a small shop where a core group of skaters liked to shop, and exploding into the massive streetwear giant Supreme is today- collaborating with the likes of Nike, and Louis Vuitton. They are most well known for their iconic “box logo” which is a simple red box with the word “Supreme” emblazoned across it in white letters.
Supreme is also known for some of their…we’ll say…less traditional “accessory: collaborations. They’ve released things like Supreme branded crowbars, hammers, nunchucks, fire extinguishers, squirt guns, dog food bowls, calculators, bolt cutters, and even bricks…..yes, I said bricks. A recent collaboration they took part in was with Coleman- to produce a Supreme branded version of their CT200U mini bike motorcycle. You or one of your friends definitely had one of these as a kid- except it didn’t have box logos on it, so obviously it wasn’t as cool.
This bike, like many of Supreme’s products, is now worth substantially more than it’s original retail price. They initially retailed for around a thousand dollars USD and now sell on eBay for three, four….even five thousand dollars.
