Goldrush Festival – Chandler, AZ
There was no lack of glitter and gold at this years Goldrush Music Festival, held annually in Chandler, Arizona. On November 18th and 19th, everyone rushed to catch this unforgettable experience, as the Rawhide Western Town and Event Center revamped itself into an entire 1880’s old western town filled with town attractions like rock climbing, panning for gold, mechanical bull riding, or getting glitter bombed by the Art Glitter Beauty Collection. We tried looking for gold, but it didn’t pan out!
The idea of a multi-genre lineup was brilliant, and they planned out all four stages appropriately, creating a great variety of artists on each stage. The evening atmosphere was a mix of a winter wonderland mixed with the Wild West! The lineup was worth its weight in gold, as it featured over 50 reputable artists such as Migos, Dillon Francis, Excision, Claude Vonstroke, Hippie Sabotage, Keys N Krates, Rezz, $uicideboy$, Snow Tha Product, Marshmello, Lil Uzi Vert, RL Grime, Mija, Rich Chigga, Ugly God, and many more!
If you were lucky enough to acquire a VIP Gold ticket, it included complimentary drinks in a special lounge area, and an authentic dinner at Rawhide’s steakhouse. If not, there were plenty of grubbing options to choose from throughout the town. After eating some tiny tacos and realizing I was still hungry, I finally ended up stuffing my face with the best pizza from The Spot! There was a new feature at this event however, regarding how you spent your hard earned coinage. Before you could purchase anything…and we mean anything, you had to visit the activation station, to link up your festival wristband up with your bank card or cash. Once it was activated, it was convenient, but mid-festival, and parched for a drink, no one wants to walk across “town” to get yourself set up, just to purchase a beverage.
The festival’s highlight had to be Snow Tha Product, where pandas crowd surfed, Trump pinatas were thrashed around, and Feliciano, aka Snow Tha Product displayed her sassy bilingual lyrical skills! Rich Chigga had a memorable set as well, with his jokester attitude, and witty flows.
During Mija’s set, some kids were shuffling so hard, they created their own dust storms! Face masks were a must for this set, but it was filled with such good vibes. Mija really brought together a niche of fans who were all smiles, carefree, and ready to dance!
The overall vibe was just sensational, and some artists took a few moments to show their support for Lil Peep, who recently passed away from an overdose, right before performing at our local Tucson stomping grounds, called The Rock. It is always sad when an artist is taken from us too soon, so it was nice to see these artists share their condolences.
Ultimately, with all the pyrotechnic displays, amazing DJ’s and performers, there was never a dull moment! We’re glad that this festival concept came together so well and we want to thank everyone who travelled to the Wild West with us! Yee-haw!!
