Bassnectar Decadence & Atlanta NYE – recap
If you live in or near denver you’ve probably heard of Decadence. I was only able to catch the one night at the Denver convention center, but it was a great set up having 2 stages in seperate area of the convention center plently of dance room bathrooms and areas for drinks. It being my first time i was pretty impressed with it. The main act of December 30th for me anyway was Bassnectar. He came right out with nothing less than expected. The set was fun soft and heavy bass all in one hour and a half set. His Colorado sets are always something to remember just like last July when he play his 3 night run at 1st Bank Center.
The next evening December 31st New Years Eve I was able to attend Bassnectar’s own curated anual New Years Eve gathering. This year it was moved from Birmingham, Al to Atlanta, Ga at Georgia World Cenventiom Center where in 2016 he had his 2 night gathering. He had Putureprimitive, Ott and What So Not as openers. All the openers were absolutely great in their own unique way! Then at 11pm the reason we all are gathering together Bassnectar comes on. As i was expecting after seeing him the night before he started off with a BANG! His set on this night was completely different from the previous evening. If your a Bassnectar fan you know he tends to not play the same sets ever. As midnight came so did the count down to end the year and everyone was wondering what somg he was gonna play to bring in the New Year and at midnight he dropped his track Breathless. Bassnectar always brings a special guest out at his NYE events and this year he said he brought someone who inspired him and it was 17 year old Xiuhtezcatl Martinez and his organization Earth Guardians where he has a little speach and freestyle session if you would like to see what he had to see a video link will be provided below. After that Bassnectar played a bit longer and the evening came to an end and everyone left to go about the rest if there evening.
Bassnectar and his crew always put on a great show and this year was no different big shout out to everyone that put together these events.
