Yayoi Kusama Exhibit – Dallas Museum of Art
Yayoi Kusama is an 88 year old artist born in Matsumoto, Nagano, Japan. She has been creating art for the last 65 years of her life. She is famous for her polka dot works and her infinite mirrors rooms. The Dallas Museum of Art is fortunate enough to have one of her famous rooms on display. I happen to have the chance to go and check it out.
It was only 45 seconds in the room but the bright lit pumpkins gave the room life reflecting off the mirrors endlessly was an amazing sight. The room is called “All the eternal love I have for the pumpkins.” The Fully mirrored square room features 62 glowing acrylic yellow pumpkins covered in black polka dots. It’s an amazing site and experience to see first hand. Make sure to search her name and to look at some of her amazing artwork that has been displayed all over the world.
