Phoenix Lights Festival – recap
What a crazy unexpected two day weekend, packed full of an amazing set of people! Phoenix Lights was such a success and we had blast under the electric sky! We were at a new venue, with the same great vibes, as always. The Park at Wild Horse Pass was a bit tricky for some fans to navigate to, but once you arrived, we quickly realized it was all worth the wait!
With the scorching heat blaring down on us from day one, the sun was hard to ignore. Sweat poured down as fans literally lined up in the few slivers of shade that were created by some of the art installations. There was not much else you could do but slather on some sunscreen, chug water and say, “let’s do this!” However, it was a brief sigh of relief when a Relentless Ranger would skip by you and spray the air with some cool water.
Finally when the southwestern sun let up on our sunburned shoulders, it was time to turn up! Fans were hyped up for Martin Garrix, Gucci Mane & Seven Lions at the Mothership Stage, while others were running to catch Gramatik or Green Velvet at another. After day one of Phoenix Lights was complete, I scribbled in my journal, “I’m off to bed, between the sun and the madness, my body is done.”
After much needed rest at the hotel, we were recuperated and ready for day two of Phoenix Lights, which was absolutely insane! There was Travis Scott, Midnight T, ZOMBOY, Diplo, Boombox Cartel and so many more amazing artists to hit the stage! On Sunday FUNday, the music and vibes were really on point and Diplo stole the night!
We gathered quotes from some fans themselves, as they were saying how, “We broke our Necks, rails, phones, and drank way too much Malt Liquor.” Another fan shared his favorite sets as he stated how, “Martin Garrix killed it, Boombox Cartel was lit and Its Bear Grillz shut it down!” The last festival goer is clearly feeling the aftermath when he confessed, “I had fun. I lost my voice. I got trashed and I can’t feel my neck.”
In honor of the debauchery that occurred this past weekend, we want to thank everyone for another proper festival in the desert! It reminds us that all the work that we do is dedicated to you and everyone living their best life, moving to the beat of their own drum, and letting the bass takeover! The Phoenix Lights Festival gets bigger and better every year and we are so happy to have shared that with you all. Another adventure awaits us soon, until next time!
